In some scenarios it may be necessary or useful to factory reset a FUYL Smart Locker. In most cases, a factory reset should only be performed on the advice of a support agent, and any circumstance in which a factory reset is necessary should be reported regardless of successful outcome.
Important Warnings & Advisories
- Network Configuration: A factory reset clears all local network settings. Lockers operating in a Wi-Fi or statically configured network environment will require reconnection and reconfiguration after the reset is complete.
- Bay Statuses: Factory resetting a locker will clear all bay statuses.
Procedure
The procedure varies between FUYL model, operating environment and desired final state.

Note: In general, if a FUYL Locker is enrolled with a cloud management platform (Essentials, Advanced or Classic), it will re-enrol automatically on network discovery. To remove a FUYL Locker from management, it must be removed from the account first.

FUYL 5 Pro & 15 Pro (MK2.5 & MK3)
Option A: Via Admin Menu
- Press 00 then OK on the control door.
- Log in with a known admin PIN (default is 31082018).
- Select Danger Zone.
- Select Factory reset then OK to confirm.
Option B: Hardware Reset
If an admin PIN is unknown or the menu is otherwise unavailable:
- Open the control door with the admin key.
- Locate the reset button on the back of the control door.
- Press and hold the reset button with a pin/paperclip for 10-15 seconds (until the display confirms a reset is underway).
FUYL 5 & 15 (MK2)
Option A: Via Admin Menu
- Press 00 then OK on the control door.
- Log in with a known admin PIN (default is 31082018).
- Select Danger Zone.
- Select Factory reset then OK to confirm.
Option B: microSD Flash
If an admin PIN is unknown or the menu is otherwise unavailable, it is possible to re-flash the FUYL's SD card. The following process should only be performed after contacting support.
- Download the latest firmware image from here. Store this on the computer used to perform the update.
This image is exclusively for FUYL 5 and FUYL 15 MK2 hardware. For MK1 images, contact support. - Download and install Balena Etcher from here (an alternative flashing tool can be used if preferred).
- Use Balena Etcher to flash the .img file to an (ideally new, 8Gb+ Class10+) microSD card. This process varies by system, but is relatively straightforward (contact support if unsure).
- With the power removed from the FUYL Locker (precaution), open the control bay door using the lock/key on the front.
- Remove the old microSD card from the compute module on the back of the door.
- Insert the new microSD card securely into the control bay door, then close and lock it.
- Power on the locker.
FUYL Tower (MK1)
Option A: Via Admin Menu
- Insert and turn the admin key to the smaller of the locks on the control door.
- When prompted, enter an 8-digit admin PIN (default is 23350743).
- Select 0 for System resets.
- Select Factory reset (or Portal access rst to reset network configuration & portal password to default, uberbasket).
Option B: microSD Flash & Key Replacement
If an admin PIN is unknown, admin keys are missing or the menu is otherwise unavailable, contact support for help with flashing a new microSD card & key replacement.
