Overview
In some scenarios it may be necessary to replace the control door of a FUYL Smart Locker. This process should only be completed on the advice of FUYL Support, and differs depending on FUYL model.
Prerequisites
- Torx T20 Screwdriver (provided with all FUYL Lockers)
- FUYL Admin Key (provided with all FUYL Lockers)
- 7mm socket & driver or wrench
Procedure
FUYL 5 & 15 (MK2, MK2.5 & MK3)
While the MK3 FUYL Control Door differs from the MK2 in appearance, it is backward compatible and will seamlessly replace an older MK2 door.
- Disconnect the FUYL Smart Locker from power (unplug it at the wall)
- Open the control door using the admin key
- Disconnect the power, data and ethernet cables from the back of the control door
Amber arrows indicate connections that may differ between models. Please disconnect all three cables leading from the internal wiring loom to the control door on any FUYL Locker, regardless of similarity to the image above. - Using a 7mm socket or wrench, carefully disconnect the grounding lead from the interior FUYL chassis
- Using the included T20 screwdriver (or your own), unscrew the 3 bolts securing the door to the hinge, and slide the door away from the hinge
-
Insert the new door in the same position, then follow the steps above in reverse
Important notes:
- The new door includes a new grounding cable, ensure this is connected to the chassis correctly
- The data cable may differ between models, take care when reconnecting cables that the connector matches exactly
Next Steps
After replacing a control door, you will likely need to re-address the locks to ensure they communicate correctly with the new control system.
