Tools Required
- (Battery operated) Screwdriver
- Security Torx-Head Screwdriver bit
- Phillips-Head Screwdriver bit
- Cable Cutters
- 10 – 15 cable ties
Process
- Unplug the FUYL Locker from it's power source and allow it to completely dissipate any power (Wait 30s).
- Remove the side panel of the FUYL Locker, to do this you need a torx-head screwdriver bit. There are approximately 20-25 screws, both on the side panel and the front panel. This is what you can see when the side panel is removed:
- To ensure this process is completed smoothly, cut these cable ties that are holding the power point cable and the USB port label.
- Unscrew the power point from inside the locker. Please note that there is a second screw that is hard to see.
- Once these two screws are removed, we can move the power point out of our way. We have found that it is best to move the cable from the power point above as positioned below (note this can be quite tough but with the cable ties removed it is easier).
- Pop the left-hand side (as seen in the picture below) of the power point out of the socket and slide the whole unit from the socket.
- From here we can cut the remaining cable ties that are holding the power point cables in place. These are shown below.
- Follow the power cable down, through the cable routing cut-outs and into the power board in the bottom cabinet.
- At this point unplug the faulty power point remove from the FUYL Locker.
- Installing the new power point is a simple as following these instructions:
- Firstly, start by inserting and screwing in the new power point into your locker
- Next you can roughly route the cable alongside the other power cables, threading the IEC connector through the cable routing holes at the bottom of the locker
- Plug in the IEC connector into the vacant spot created when we removed the faulty power point
- At this point we begin cable tying the power cables, we cable tie when every new power point is connected
- Once this is complete we are done with the internals, using the security torx screws, fit the side panel back onto the locker.
You are now complete and have replaced a faulty power point.
