In rare circumstances, the grey data cable connections in MK2 lockers may become loose over time, particularly with repeated forceful closing of the bay doors. This may result in individual bays not responding properly, but reseating the data cable connections is a simple maintenance procedure that can restore proper communication between the locks and the control system.
Important Notes & Advisories
- Gentle Handling: Always handle cable connections with care. The connectors are designed to seat securely but should not require excessive force.
- Power Safety: Always power down the locker completely before performing any maintenance procedures to avoid electrical damage or system errors.
- Recurring Issues: If the same bay repeatedly requires cable reseatting, this may indicate a more serious hardware issue that should be addressed by support.
Procedure
Follow these steps to reseat the data cable connections in your MK2 FUYL Locker.
- Power down the locker completely by unplugging the unit. Wait for all lights to turn off before proceeding.
- Open the left side access door of the MK2 Locker
- Locate the grey data cable that runs between the control module and the individual lock connectors (it may be partially hidden behind the front chassis corner). You will see small connectors along the cable path where it connects to each lock assembly.
- Gently press each connector to ensure it is fully seated. The connectors should stop and feel secure when properly connected. Excessive force isn't required, a firm, gentle press is all that's needed.
- Close the side access door and ensure it latches properly.
- Power on the locker and allow it to complete its startup sequence.
- Test the previously affected bays to confirm they are now responding properly.
If Issues Persist
If bays continue to malfunction after reseating the data cable connections, a bay readdress procedure may be required. This process reassigns the bay identifiers and can resolve communication issues that are not related to physical cable connections.
When to Contact Support

- The same bay repeatedly requires cable reseatting after normal use
- You notice damaged cables, connectors, or visible wear on the wiring
- Bays continue to malfunction after both cable reseatting and bay readdressing
