SD Card Replacement (MK2)

Overview

In some cases, it may be necessary to completely reset your FUYL Locker to factory settings using the latest firmware. Please only attempt this procedure after being advised by support, as there may be special requirements or circumstances to be considered on our side.

Prerequisites

  • A FUYL 15 or 5 (MK2)
  • An administrator override key
  • A MicroSD card reader & a computer
  • A new 8Gb, Class 10+ MicroSD card (optional)

Details on how to identify a FUYL locker can be found here. It is recommended to replace the original SD card with a new one to guarantee the longest life possible.

Procedure

At the locker

  1. Remove power to the locker entirely, and wait 30 seconds (precaution)
  2. Open the Control Door (on the front of the locker) with the administrator key
  3. Remove the MicroSD card from the door

At the computer

  1. Download and extract the latest firmware image from here
  2. Download and install Balena Etcher from here (you can use your own flashing tool if preferred)
  3. Using the MicroSD card reader & Balena Etcher, flash the .img file to replace all content on the card. This process varies by operating system, but Etcher is quite intuitive. Contact support for help if required.

At the locker

  1. Insert the freshly imaged MicroSD card, ensuring correct orientation.
  2. Close and lock the Control Door
  3. Power on the locker and wait for full start up
    This may take some time as individual lock modules adopt new firmware

Testing and configuration

Cloud enrolment

If the locker will be connected and managed from the Essentials, Advanced, Classic or Enhanced services, support will need to perform tasks to allow what appears to be a new locker to enrol. Please contact support before continuing with any enrolment.

Offline use (Public/Standalone mode)

If the locker will not be connected or managed remotely;

  1. At the "Ready to set up" screen, press "00" then "OK" on the pin-pad
  2. At the prompt for an Admin PIN or RFID, use "31082018" to access the default admin menu
  3. Select "Standalone mode" and confirm selection
  4. The locker may restart to apply the new mode
  5. Once idle ("Enter bay number" appears on screen), reenter the admin menu and configure a new administrator PIN and or RFID
