Update Firmware
Enabling Automatic Firmware Updates
It is strongly recommended to enable automatic firmware updates for the lockers in your account. This not only means the latest features will be available, but also ensures security and reliability improvements are applied promptly. Updates are applied between 00:00 and 01:00 local time.
- Log into FUYL Portal
- Select Dashboard and click on the top-most node (your account)
- Navigate to the setting tab in the right-hand panel
- Scroll to the bottom and enable Allow automatic firmware updates
Applying a Firmware Update from the FUYL Portal
If a locker is enrolled in the FUYL Portal and Automatic firmware updates aren’t enabled, it is possible to update the firmware to the latest version manually.
At the locker level, click “Settings” and look for “Update Firmware” in the “Danger Zone” settings. Manual Firmware updates are considered dangerous as they will result in some locker downtime while it is applied and rebooted. Automatic updates are scheduled for between 00:00 and 01:00 daily if enabled (usually while safe).
Applying a Firmware Update Offline
Lockers can be updated in their Onboarding Portal with an appropriate SWU firmware update file provided by LocknCharge support.
- Navigate to the onboarding portal in your browser.
- Accept the EULA then click on the “Version” tag at the top of the page:
- Follow the on-screen instructions to update firmware. Be patient while uploading the SWU file, especially if remote!
The locker will reboot when finished. The firmware version can be confirmed both in the Onboarding Portal and the Admin menu on the locker itself.
Enable Locker Lockdown
Locking down a locker will take every bay offline, ensuring users cannot access or reserve bays.
- Log into the FUYL Portal
- Select Dashboard in the left control panel.
- Select the locker you want to lockdown from the Connected Stations list
- Navigate to the settings tab in the right-hand panel
- Select the enable station lockdown button, select yes in the confirmation dialog box
Restart Locker
Restarting a locker can often resolve firmware issues. Lockers can be restarted remotely from the FUYL Portal or directly from the locker's admin menu.
- Log into the FUYL Portal
- Select the locker you want to restart from the Connected Stations list
- Navigate to the settings tab in the right-hand panel
- Select the restart station button, select yes in the confirmation dialog box
