Overview
This describes the process of replacing the 24V Power Supply (PSU) in the FUYL Tower 15 Pro (MK3). Replacing the PSU and wiring harness is an involved process and should be undertaken with care and attention to recreating the default cable connections and routing. You may wish to take pictures while removing the original PSU to better document the replacement's positioning.
Warning!
Ensure the locker is completely powered down and disconnected before proceeding with the PSU replacement to avoid electrical hazards.
Requirements
- FUYL Tower 15 Pro (MK3)
- FUYL Admin keys (Shipped with Tower)
- FUYL Maintenance Screwdriver (Torx T20, shipped with Tower)
Procedure
- Unplug the FUYL Locker from its power source and allow it to completely dissipate any stored power (Wait 30 seconds).
- Open the side door using the Admin keys shipped with the locker.
- Trace the IEC cable between the PSU and the power distribution board (pictured below) and disconnect it. Remove any cable-ties and ferrite beads/chokes as you proceed, taking note of their locations.
- Trace the remaining 3 cables leading from the PSU to each of the locks and the control door (You will need the Admin key to open), note the cable routing and remove each connector carefully.
Note: There will be a total of 17 connectors;- One for each of the bay lock modules (15)
- One for the control door
- One expansion/spare connector (the white connector seen in the picture above)
- Once the PSU cabling is free, open bays 2 and 4 with their manual override levers:
- There are two screws in each bay, near the back of bays 2 and 4, as pictured below. Remove these screws to free the PSU
- With the screws removed, gently tilt the PSU to help remove it with the associated cabling from the chassis.
- Installing the replacement PSU requires performing the same steps in reverse. Note that the cable lengths are measured and should not be under tension when correctly positioned.
